Mountain Park artist displays work at Refuge Visitor Center
In the cold winter months of January and February Mountain Park artist Eva Cook finds plenty of time to paint, but as things start budding out in March and April she turns into a workhorse for the corps of volunteers who maintain the natural beauty of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
She mows picnic areas. She helps remove invasive species. She picks up trash that thoughtless visitors leave behind.
“Yep, yep, yep. A lot of stuff goes on out there,” she said.
