Verizon Wireless opens Smart Store

Verizon Wireless celebrated the opening of its first Smart Store in Oklahoma Friday with a ribbon cutting at its new Lawton location, 2112 Cache Road.

During the past year, Verizon said, it has rolled out a new retail design and introduced new ways of doing business to make shopping for wireless devices and services easier, more convenient and more personalized for customers. Smart Stores allow customers to engage with the newest technology and learn the many ways it can be incorporated into everyday lifestyles.

The new design features "mobile lifestyle zones" where customers can experience and interact with products that enhance mobile lifestyles and bring their devices to life. They focus on music, tracking healthy habits, novel tech gadgets, home automation, simplifying life for travelers and small businesses, making a style statement with smartphone accessories, and a Wireless Workshop Zone for learning to use wireless devices and accessories.

Bois Martin, manager of the new store, said what sets it apart is the ability for customers to interact with devices and accessories. Customers can get hands-on demonstrations of what the equipment can do. Workshops will be available throughout the day so customers can learn more about the technology.
