Tickets go on sale for chamber banquet

The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce will present its Annual Celebration at 5 p.m. June 29 at the Apache Casino Hotel, 2327 E. Gore.

Chamber members are encouraged to attend as the chamber will celebrate a momentous year, honor members for their dedication and map out the year ahead. This year's theme is "Finding a Way to YesÖ Together," which outlined by incoming Chairman Albert Johnson Jr. is "mostly about our attitude in approaching everyday challenges."

"As the volunteer leader of the chamber for 2018-2019, I want us to look at every situation in such a manner that the end result is to find a workable solution," Johnson said. "In that the chamber is about representing Lawton's business community, we want to be about finding solutions for our members. This approach has remarkable potential if we can work together with the other key members of our community ñ elected officials, other agencies and individuals who are doing business within Lawton-Fort Sill. I am excited to begin this year and am looking forward to 'Finding a Way to YesÖ Together' with each of you."

One June 29, the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce will not only host its Annual Celebration, but also a Community Concert featuring Yellow Rose Dinner Theatre performing "Motown Magic." The concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Apache Casino Hotel after the chamber's Annual Celebration.

"We are extremely excited to include a community element to our annual celebration this year," said chamber Interim President and CEO Jamie Southerland. "The 'Motown Magic' concert will allow the citizens of Lawton-Fort Sill the opportunity to enjoy some great music and get to know members of their chamber. The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce represents its members, but it also represents our community. We hope the community will come out and celebrate with us and have a little fun."
