Bugado new LEDC projects manager
The Lawton Fort Sill Economic Development Corporation has announced that Layla Bugado is its new projects and operations manager.
Bugado was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Growing up, her family owned several small businesses, which she worked at during the summers. In 2008, she graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's of science degree in economics. While in college, Bugado worked for Wells Fargo and the Greater El Paso Employee Credit Union.
She has a background in banking, customer service, sales, and project and operations management. After college, she married Brad Bugado, who serves in the U.S. Army. They were relocated to Lawton in 2009, where Bugado continued growing her career as she worked for Superior Finance and later CGI.
From 2012 to 2014, Bugado and her husband were stationed in Washington at Fort Lewis. While stationed there, she worked for Alaska Federal Credit Union as an assistant branch manager. Upon completing her masters of business administration specialized in project management from Ashford University in 2012, she obtained a job with Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU), beginning her career as a project manager. At the end of 2013, her family was moved to Kuwait and she worked for WSECU remotely, then continued working for WSECU remotely when her family moved back to Lawton in December 2016.
Bugado also is a personal trainer and said she enjoys helping the community get fit. She and her husband have two children, Bradley and Zara.
