Youth Expo to teach students life skills
Middle and high school students will gain some early life wisdom at an event Saturday organized by Young Men in Action.
The 2018 Youth Expo is set from 8 a.m. to about 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Central Middle School gym. Kenneth Stallworth, special education teacher at CMS and co-sponsor, said the exposition is open to students from grades 6-12. The aim of the event is to teach students important skills and information they’re going to need — even before they leave school for the final time as a graduated adult.
“Our goal is to provide children with life skills through a series of events,” he said. “We’re going to talk about financial literacy, about how getting people to know they are great and dressing for success and how to dress for interviews and appearances.”
