Violent rear-end collision claims Snyder man
A 35-year-old Snyder man died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning near Indiahoma.
The accident occurred at 7:48 a.m. on U.S. 62 about 3.5 miles east of Indiahoma or a half-mile west of Post Oak Road. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1993 Ford pickup driven by Russell N. Lycett was westbound on U.S. 62 when it struck the rear of a Comanche County-owned 1990 International dump truck driven by Bradley S. Jones, 46, of Marlow, which also had been traveling west. Lycett was pinned in his vehicle for an unknown amount of time before being freed by the Cache Fire Department.
Lycett was taken by ambulance to Comanche County Memorial Hospital, where he died of trunk internal injuries. The driver of the dump truck and a passenger, Tommy G. Mote, 56, of the Lawton Community Correctional Center, were both taken to Southwestern Medical Center. Both were treated for head injuries and released.
