Police seek suspect in shooting Altus home

Potentially connected to rash of recent shootings

Altus police are searching for a 26-year-old suspect in a recent shooting into a home and could be involved in a recent shooting spree plaguing the Jackson County seat.

The Jackson County District Court issues a felony arrest warrant for Manuel Kevin Dutra for the charge of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy said that Dutra is wanted in connection to “at least one of the recent shooting investigations” being conducted by his department.

Dutra has been identified as the person responsible for a Nov. 3 shooting incident into a home in the 700 block of North Willard that originally went unreported by the homeowner. The incident is one of now five reported shootings that day.

Police were called shortly before 2 a.m. Nov. 3, to the 900 block of North Lee where a vehicle was struck by gunfire. Around 2:30 a.m. another call sent police to the 600 block of North Willard where bullets struck another home. Three homes in the 1000 block of North Benson were shot, along with two vehicles around 9 a.m. Another home in the 1500 block of Debbie Street took bullets around 11:40 a.m.
