Pae, Montgomery overcome challengers for State Legislature
Two new faces will represent Lawton when the Oklahoma Legislature reconvenes in February.
John Michael Montgomery vacated his seat as Oklahoma House District 62 representative in a gamble to run against Democratic candidate Jacobi Crowley for State Senate District 32. The gamble paid off, as Montgomery earned 8,425 votes — 55.12 percent — to Crowley’s 6,861 votes.
Political newcomer Daniel Pae, Republican, will represent Oklahoma House District 62 after defeating Democrat challenger Larry Bush by a slim margin of just 42 votes. Pae, a Lawton native and Oklahoma University economics and political science graduate, earned 4,120 votes to Bush’s 4,078.
