Murder charge merits $1 million bond for Cyril man
A 28-year-old Cyril man is being held on $1 million bond for shooting and killing one man and critically injuring another.
Johnny Ray Jones made his initial appearance in Comanche County District Court Tuesday where he was charged with felony counts of first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill, records indicate. The murder charge is punishable by up to life in prison, life without parole and even death upon conviction.
When arrested by police, Jones admitted to “shooting his ‘brothers-in-law’” during an incident the morning of Jan. 29, according to the court affidavit.
Lawton police were called shortly before 3 a.m. to 1419 SW Bishop Road on the report of a shooting incident and arrived to find Joshua Seavert and Joseph Raymond Guerdett suffering gunshot wounds. The men were taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
