Mangum woman in critical condition from wreck
A Mangum woman is in critical condition at an Oklahoma City hospital following a single-vehicle wreck Thursday, August 1 in Kiowa County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Carrie Griffis, 56, was taken first to Elkview Hospital in Hobart and later flown to OU Trauma Center where she was admitted in critical condition with internal trunk injuries.
Griffis was driving an Oldsmobile vehicle eastbound on Oklahoma 9 shortly after 7 a.m. when for an unknown reason she went off the roadway to the right and collided with the guardrail, 1 mile west of Lone Wolf, Trooper Chris Sherman reported. The driver was wearing a seatbelt.
