Man hit by pickup in Altus

ALTUS  A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning, Altus police said.

The accident occurred at 6:40 a.m. in the 200 block of East Liveoak. According to police reports, Richard Haga, 49, was walking his dog when he was struck by a pickup driven by Toby Green. Police Chief Tim Murphy said Green told police he did not see the pedestrian because it was dark. Haga told police he was not injured.

Separatetwo-vehicle accident

Altus police also responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Main Street and Sutherland Avenue. According to police reports, a pickup driven by Benjamin Estes was southbound on Main approaching the intersection when a car driven by Carrie Phillips, 65, attempting to turn north on Main was struck by Estes' vehicle on the driver's side.
