Kiowa Black Leggings Ceremonials Begin Saturday
ANADARKO — Life returns to the Indian City U.S.A. dance grounds Saturday and Sunday as the Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society holds its 60th annual ceremonial gathering.
Campers will be setting up this evening at the campgrounds, ¼-mile south of Anadarko on Oklahoma 8. The start of the observance begins at 8 a.m. Saturday with a flag raising ceremony to fly the flag of Fred Tsoodle, said Patrick Redbird, Society spokesman. All society members are asked to come and sing. At noon, the Kaulaity family hopes all will come out and share a meal with the membership on Saturday in honor of the new “Aw-Day Tah-Lee,” Hyshtaini James Kaulaity Quintana.
