Fletcher voters to decide bond issue
FLETCHER — Residents of the Fletcher Public Schools district will decide a $810,000 bond issue proposal when they go the polls Tuesday.
If approved, the bond will fund a new roof for the school building without costing district residents anything extra. Superintendent Shane Gilbreath said the six-year bond issue’s tax increase would coincide with the end of two previous bond payments.
“That’s really what we’ve been waiting on,” he said. “We’ve timed things out where we could have the biggest amount of money that we could without having to cost our taxpayers anything more.”
The money would pay for the construction of a pitch metal roof for the entire building.
