Elgin man jailed for allegedly shooting into Caddo County home
A 30-year-old Elgin man is in jail on $75,000 bond after he was accused of dragging a woman out of her Eakly home, beating her up, fighting with her husband and shooting into their house.
Ricky Ray Lawrence made his initial appearance Monday in Caddo County District Court where he received a felony charge of felony discharging firearm into a dwelling, court records indicate. The crime is punishable by no less than 2 years and up to 20 years in prison.
Lawrence is accused of violent actions early the morning of Dec. 28. Caddo County Deputy Ricardo Gutierrez said in the court affidavit that he was called to 127 Garden Street in Crow’s Roost near Eakly on a shots fired call. He spoke with the reporting person who said a dark blue Subaru drove at a high rate of speed across his driveway and it stopped on the other side of the fence. He heard a male voice call to him then, as the vehicle took off, several gunshots were were fired.
