Duncan center gets new programs, activities director
DUNCAN Shannon Hall-Sanders was named the new director of programs and activities at Douglass East Side Senior Citizens Center on Monday. The center is located at 702 S. 2nd.
She replaces the retiring Shirley King and has already assumed her new duties.
"It is both an honor and a challenge to replace Shirley," Sanders said. "We thank her for her dedication, her love for the community and her hard work. Everybody loves Shirley and she has done an amazing job in her six years here."
A native of Edmond, Sanders has been in Duncan for seven years and with her husband, Rudy, and Yolanda Sanders is a co-owner of Future World Changers Child Development Center.
"We hope to bring more awareness to the programs at Douglass and to be both an asset and a resource to our seniors," Sanders said. "My purpose is to bring a more united front. I'm all about being one unified community, and I'm excited about the opportunities presented by my new role."
