Day of Caring set Friday in Stephens County
Projects have been finalized. Equipment and supplies have been acquired. Food has been arranged. The weather forecast is good. And the kickoff is set.
Volunteers will take the spotlight in Stephens County Friday when workers target 17 projects in the annual Day of Caring, coordinated by the United Way of Stephens County.
Seven sites for United Way agencies and 10 other sites from not-for-profit organizations across the county will be the focus of more than 125 volunteers.
“We’re ready to go,” Kristen Arrington, chairman of the county-wide project, said. “Our sites have been selected. We have a strong team of volunteers. Local stores and businesses have provided adequate equipment, tools and supplies. And it looks like the weather will cooperate.
“What more,” she continued, “could we want for a community event that has more than 40 years of a rich and rewarding tradition?”
