Twin sisters Izzy, Gabby Cummins sign with East Central, still chase coveted Gold Ball in final days as Lady Owls
ELGIN — Paige Pendley had a hunch last season the Lady Owls’ dynamic twins would end up playing college basketball together.
Pendley’s prediction came true on Friday as twin sisters Izzy and Gabby Cummins signed to play college basketball for Division II East Central University for the Tigers in Ada.
“I envisioned this day for a long time. It’s just crazy to think it’s come so soon,” said Izzy Cummins, who is averaging 15 points per game her senior season for the No. 3 Lady Owls, who are now 20-2 after her 20 points in a 62-34 Senior Night win over Clinton on Friday night. “When I was little, our big sister Zoe would always tell us we were gonna go play basketball somewhere while we were outside working on our jumpshot. It’s just crazy to now think that what she said has come true.”
Last year, Gabby bluntly said — with a loving touch and a bright smile, “Izzy knows she can’t live without me.”
So it’s not a shocker the exuberant blonde twins wanted to remain together in college.
