Tigers trying to keep playoff win streak alive tonight

TIPTON — It’s semifinal Friday in Oklahoma, and it’s déjà vu for the Tipton Tigers.

Tonight at 7 p.m. at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford — a home away from home the Tigers have become all too familiar with — fourth-ranked Tipton (10-2) will meet third-ranked Pond Creek-Hunter (11-1) in the Class C semifinals.

To win a third straight Class C state championship Tipton must first beat the team it toppled to win the past two titles.

“The old cliché talk is really true. It’s hard to beat a team twice, and it’s really hard to beat a good team three times, but that’s the challenge we’re up against,” Tipton coach Travis White said.
