Snyder, Tipton facing second-round foes

SNYDER — Joe Garrison and the Cyclones’ football players don’t go many places around Snyder without getting an extra dose of encouragement these days.

“Everywhere you go, people are telling us, ‘Good luck, we’re rooting for you.’ It’s been inspiring the way the town has gotten behind this team and to see the fans all excited,” said Snyder coach Joe Garrison whose fourth-ranked unbeaten Cyclones (10-0) host Laverne (8-2) tonight at 7 p.m. in the second round of the Class B playoffs.

The same could be said just 20 miles to the southwest in Tipton, where the fourth-ranked Tigers (9-2) are out to continue their march towards a third straight Class C state championship when hosting Coyle (8-2) in the Class C quarterfinals tonight at 7 p.m.
