Red Rive rematch
Don’t poke the bear.
With Oklahoma’s College Football Playoff hopes still alive and well following a 59-56 road victory Friday night at West Virginia, the Sooners’ next opponent — Texas —may have just lit a fire under OU.
Texas senior defensive end Breckyn Hager, a Longhorns captain, recently said “OU has no defense.” It’s not entirely off base considering the Sooners recently became the first team to give up at least 40 points in three consecutive victories since the AP poll era began in 1936.
“Blows my mind. We hung 50 (45) on them, too,” Oklahoma linebacker Curtis Bolton said after the Sooners scored two defensive touchdowns to edge the 13th-ranked Mountaineers in Morgantown. “If anyone on their defense has anything to say, they can have fun playing Kyler next week.”
