Fletcher, Big Pasture hit finals

It will be No. 1 Fletcher and No. 2 Big Pasture squaring off Saturday evening for the girls championship of the Comanche County Basketball Tournament.

Defense and the outside shooting of Jordan Bloomfield keyed top-seeded Fletcher’s 41-25 victory over Walters in Thursday’s first semifinals game at Great Plains Coliseum.

Big Pasture followed suit with an inside-out punch that produced a 43-32 triumph over Sterling in the nightcap.

The finals are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff Saturday at The Coliseum.

Frederick and Geronimo advanced in consolation play.

The Bombers took control early en route to a 60-36 victory over Indiahoma.

The Lady Jays used a balanced attack to turn back Chattanooga, 44-29.

The boys return to The Coliseum today for their semifinals and consolation semis. Fletcher and Indiahoma open the program at 4:30 p.m. and Frederick meets Geronimo at 5:50. Winners return Saturday to play for the consolation title.
