Elgin volleyball wins opener over Snyder

ELGIN  Elgin volleyball started its season with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-9 victory at home over Snyder.

Kaitlyn Holmgren produced the most balanced line for the Owls (1-0) with 18 digs, 13 kills, 12 aces, nine assists and one block. Holmgren had nine aces in a row at one point.

"Which is awesome," Elgin head coach Brittain Walbrick said. "She's not serving any more than she normally was, but I would say she was a lot more confident serving. They were (hit) a lot harder than they were last year."

Kyla Plumbtree was strong on the serves for Elgin also, posting five aces and three in a row.

Jentry Holt finished with nine kills and three blocks. Heather Wander (libero) added 19 digs, while Lindsey Delvecchio added 19 assists.
