Demons strike early, ramble past Bulldogs
DUNCAN — Sometimes numbers lie, they lie right to your face.
Looking at the first half statistics from Friday’s key District 5A-1 battle, you would think that Altus would have had the game in hand. However, a 42-21 drubbing of the No. 5 team in the state and No. 8 Duncan is sitting much happier, not having to travel to No. 4 Bishop McGuinness.
In that first half, Altus ran 47 plays to Duncan’s 18. With the option attack of the Bulldogs, that many plays and that many yards usually leads to easy Altus wins.
Not so fast Friday night in Duncan.
