Cox, Niedo have big outings for Cache
Two Cache players put up stellar numbers against Woodward on Tuesday night in hopes of leading the Bulldogs to victory.
Cache junior guard Kayla Niedo erupted for 30 points and sank six 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Bulldogs lost to Woodward, which got a runout to create a last-second layup and hand Cache a 53-51 loss.
Meanwhile, Cache senior center Morgan Cox followed up Niedo’s outburst with a big game of his own by scoring a game-high 29 points and bullying defenders inside during No. 14 Cache’s 61-47 victory over Woodward.
“Morgan would’ve had 40, but he got into foul trouble late,” said Cache coach Miles Thompson, whose Bulldogs improved to 7-2. “That was our main goal early to get ball inside to Morgan and they couldn’t stop him inside. Then our full court pressure gave them a lot of troubles.”
