Cache clinches playoff spot, edges Weatherford in 42-35 OT thriller
CACHE — Faron Griffin had one message for his defense before sending the Bulldogs out for their final battle in overtime at Ulrich Stadium.
“If you get a turnover, it’s over,” the Cache head coach said.
On the first play, the Bulldogs’ Miami-like turnover chain — which has now generated 11 takeaways the past three games (three on Thursday) — came up with a fumble which was stripped and recovered by senior Grant Goodman.
Goodman walked out of the pile with the ball, signaling another statement win for 10th-ranked Cache (7-1) as the Bulldogs remained undefeated in district play (5-0) with a thrilling 42-35 victory over Weatherford.
