Patsy "Pat" Lynn Meece Horn passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at her home. She was born March 5, 1942, in Vernon, Texas, to Ed and Jo Meece. Pat was an only child and the pride and joy of her parents. She lived her younger years in Indiahoma, attending school where her father was a coach, until 1952 when Pat's family moved and made Chattanooga their home. Pat graduated from Chattanooga High school in 1959; that same year she married her husband of 58 years, Leroy K. Horn, also of Chattanooga. Pat attended two years of college at Cameron University before settling down to raise her family.
As a young couple, Leroy and Pat started their family with the birth of Tracy in September 1960. The following years consisted of making memories with a house filled with daughters and the spoiling of many grandchildren. For 35 years, she was a dedicated coach's wife to her husband Leroy, a coach at Lawton High School. She attended all the games, home and away, making many lifelong friends and cheering on the Wolverines.
Pat worked in real estate for several years, first as a secretary for Bo Bowman then obtaining her real estate license and becoming a real estate agent. She then worked for George Murphy for many years. She spent most of her time at Remax, where she met her best friend, Jeanne Rock, for whom she worked until retirement. Pat lived a godly life, with steadfast devotion to her own family as well as her extended church family. She was a member of University Church of Christ, where she served as an elder's wife, as well as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Pat enjoyed watching sports on television with her husband, Leroy, and attending her grandsons' football, basketball and baseball games when she was able. Most of all, she loved keeping her grandkids, and spending time with Leroy and their daughters. She loved cooking for their large crew, and she always wanted everyone to eat plenty.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Horn, of the home; three daughters: Tracy Caldwell of Wichita, Kan., Teri Lee and her husband James Lee, of Lawton, and Tomi Lorah and her husband Curtis, of Elgin; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Andrea Cummins and husband Justin Cummins, their children Lucas, Logan, and Lily; grandson Tyler Caldwell and wife, Jarica Caldwell, their son Theodore, and grandaughter Lauren Caldwell; granddaughter Kelsi Kahlden and Nolan Aranda, their son Damon; and grandson Joe Kahlden; grandson Garrett Lorah, and his wife Tristan Lorah; grandson Brett Lorah; grandson Drevon Kaywaykla, and grandson Tres Lorah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Meece and Jo Meece McKinzey; and her stepdad, Wes McKinzey.
Memorial contributions may be made to University Church of Christ, 2716 SW Cornell, Lawton, OK 73505.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at the funeral home.
