Patricia Crawford Harris

Funeral Mass for Patricia Crawford Harris, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Rayanna Narisetti, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Patricia Crawford Harris died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, in Oklahoma City.  

She was born June 17, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Sherman F. and Rita Ann Crawford. She grew up in Cleveland, and graduated from high school. She had worked as a civil servant in Japan, where she met and married Maj. Richard Hale.  They were married in 1953 in Tokyo, Japan, and he preceded her in death in 1961. In 1964, she married Colonel Walter R. Harris who preceded her in death in 1993.  

She was Catholic and had been a member of the Officer's Wives Club and the Ditzy Dozen.  She enjoyed Tole painting and had been awarded "Best of Show" at the Oklahoma State Fair.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Catherine and Jack Anderson, Mooresville, N.C., and Sharon and Jeff Jester, and Patty and Rick Kleehammer, all of Edmond; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Pam Hale, Knoxville, Tenn.; her stepdaughter and husband, Mary Jon and Al Sneckenberger, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; her step daughter-in-law, Susan Harris-Hileman, Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin daughter; and a stepson, Walter Harris Jr.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
