Michelina "Lina" Strube
Graveside services for Michelina "Lina" Strube, 87, Lawton, will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton.
She passed away March 6, 2018, at Ten Oaks Nursing Facility.
Lina was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Foggia, Italy. In 1946, Lina married her sweetheart, Ferris Strube, who was a soldier stationed in Italy after the war. She came to the United States alone on a ship with other war brides, at the time, Lina was only 16 and spoke very little English. She and her husband bought a home in Lawton in 1951, where they always returned to after doing tours in Germany, Italy and wherever else the Army sent them. Lina attended college at Cameron A&M and in her free time she enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Lina is survived by her son, Darrell W. Strube, Central High; one grandson, Doran W. Strube, Indianapolis, Ind.; one granddaughter Lisha S. Carmona, Lynnwood, Wash.; two great-grandsons, Dylan W. Strube, Denton, Texas, and Shawn-Michael T. Strube, Denton, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Sabrina R. Strube, Central High; and sister, Anna Maria Dotto, Verona, Italy; along with numerous other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her son, Michael C. Strube,
