Funeral for Marvin L. Hawk, 83, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Patrick Latham officiating.
Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at a later date in the Star Valley Cemetery in Chandler.
Marvin L. Hawk died Thursday, July 26, 2018, in McKinney, Texas. He was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Schulter to James Homer and Mary Ethel Hawk. He married Sibyl Dolores Brown on April 4, 1958, in Cushing.
Marvin graduated from Schulter High School, earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and later received a master's degree in electrical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He worked for McDonnell Douglas for 19 years and later worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Nov. 3, 1961.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lawton. Marvin's hobbies included investing and woodworking. His favorite pastimes were Bible study and traveling with Sibyl and his closest friends.
He is survived by his wife; three children: Kent Hawk (Atlanta, Georgia), Bryan Hawk (Frisco, Texas) and Kimberly "Nikki" Hawk (Seattle, Washington); four grandchildren: Christina Hawk (Austin, Texas), Bryce Hawk (Frisco, Texas), Jacob Gleghorn (New Orleans, Louisiana) and Kyle Gleghorn (College Station, Texas); and his brother, John Hawk and wife Marty.
His parents and two brothers, Jimmy and Bob Hawk, preceded him in death.
