Mable Marie Holman

FREDERICK  Funeral for Mable Marie Holman, 93, Frederick, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Roberts officiating.  

Mrs. Holman passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at an Altus hospital.

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.  

Mable Marie (Curlee) Whittle Holman was born Sept. 10, 1924, near Manchester, Texas, to Henry David and Mary Alice (Shelby) Curlee. She attended public school in Clarksville, Texas. On May 9, 1941, she and Willard F. Whittle were united in marriage at Clarksville. Mr. Whittle preceded her in death in May of 1957. She later was united in marriage to Woodrow F. Holman on Feb. 11, 1972, in Vernon, Texas. Mr. Holman preceded her in death on April 14, 1983. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Holman was an excellent cook; she was well known for her homemade pies and fried chicken.  She loved spending time with her family and the get-togethers during Thanksgiving and Christmas was a special time for her.

She is survived by five sons, Richard Whittle, Lawton, Eugene Whittle, New Braunfels, Texas, Robert Whittle and his wife Carolyn, Fort Worth, Texas, Donnie Whittle and his wife Joyce, Woodward, and David Whittle and his wife Lanna, Fort Worth, Texas;  four daughters, Linda Tidwell and her husband Wilbert, Oklahoma City, Sherron Parker and her husband Dennis, Comanche, Reba Campbell, Frederick, and Kim Rogers and her husband Johnny, Snyder; a sister, Virginia Nell Combs and her husband Gene, Henderson, Texas; a brother, Twimon Curlee and his wife Ingy, Tyler, Texas;  a brother-in-law, Vernon Sim, Paris, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; two brothers, James Irving Curlee and Archie David Curlee; a sister, Connie Christine Sims; a daughter-in-law, Diane Whittle; a son-in-law, Ricky Campbell; a great-granddaughter, Mackinsey Campbell; and a great-grandson, Lane Fairchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in memory of Mable Marie Holman.
