John Joseph Poolaw Jr.
CARNEGIE John Joseph "Bubba" Poolaw Jr., 23, of Carnegie, went to be with his Lord on Thursday July 13, 2017.
Private funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sonny Ware officiating.
Burial will follow at Carnegie Cemetery.
Private prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the funeral home.
John was born Oct. 22, 1993, in Lawton, to John and Sonja (Palmer) Poolaw Sr. He graduated from Elgin High School in 2012. John worked for McCracken Hay after he graduated and was presently working at Sonic in Elgin as a manager.
John participated in various sports in high school: basketball, soccer, football, track and wrestling. He enjoyed noodling, fishing, hiking, spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, cooking, and being outdoors.
John was a member of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and was also of Kiowa descent.
John is survived by: mother, Sonja Palmer of Carnegie; three sisters: Tristan Poolaw Frost of Oklahoma City, Jonnika Palmer of Carnegie, and Marquela Pewewardy of Spur; grandparents: Darwin Palmer and Darwina Silverhorn, and Wesley Pewewardy; aunts: Missenah Poolaw, Bunny Palmer, Donna Palmer and Tiffany Johnson; uncles: Lindy Poolaw, Christopher Palmer, Phillip Palmer, Dustin Jameson, Bobby Jameson, Bunnie Palmer, Reggie Greigo and Cinder Greigo; nephew, LaShawn Palmer; and many cousins, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by: father, John Joseph Poolaw Sr.; stepdad, Curtis Pewewardy; grandparents: Lester and Berdina Poolaw; great-grandparents: Gus and Alice Palmer; aunts: Javonne Prince Palmer and Etheleen Poolaw; uncles: Darwin Palmer Jr., Jamie Poolaw and Lester Poolaw Jr.; and sister, Shalane Poolaw.
