She was born at home in Sterling, to George (Man) and Lorena Johnson on Dec. 27, 1934, and was the third of five children. Jaunita grew up in Sterling until she moved to Shawnee to attend Oklahoma Baptist University. She then quit college to marry John Carlton Kerr on Oct. 7, 1953. Out of their marriage they had two sons and four daughters. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. She will be greatly missed. Our loss is Heaven's gain. The family would like to thank Dr. Adkins, Faith Hospice, and Visiting Angels for helping take such special care of Jaunita: wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend.
