Ivory Tyree Stevens Woods

Memorial service for Ivory Tyree Stevens Woods, 75, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Rose Hill Church of Christ, 1212 SW Tennessee, Lawton, with Brother John Brown, minister, officiating.

Ivory Tyree Stevens Woods died Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, in Lawton. 

Inurnment will be under direction of Howard-Harris Funeral Services, Lawton.

She was born in Houston on Nov. 25, 1942, to Ivory Stevens and Delores Palmer. She grew up in Lawton and attended Douglass High School. She was mother to one son, Forrest Alexander, who preceded her in death. Early in life, she married Robert Woods. She also had a sister, Sandra Ann Hopkins, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Rose Hill Church of Christ. She worked in a dry cleaning business on Fort Sill. Tyree loved to cook and entertain.

Survivors include six nephews and nieces: Willie Singleton, Ernette Hopkins, Ernest Hopkins Jr., Rose Leach, Damone Hopkins, and Tyree "Ty" Hopkins; and her best friend and caretaker, William (Henry) Gadsden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sandra; her son, Forrest Alexander; nephew, Ronald (Blue) Hopkins; and special aunt she called Aunt Daisy McCain.
