Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class Frank M. Patterson, 91, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.
Retired Sgt.1st Class Frank M. Patterson died Friday, March 17, 2017, in Lawton.
He was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth, where he graduated salutatorian of his class. He later earned his degree from Cameron University. He married Barbara Tenequer in Walters.
Frank retired from the Army at Fort Sill after nearly 23 years of service. He was a veteran of Vietnam and his awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, four Overseas Service Bars, Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal Sixth Award, Vietnam Service Medal with four Service Stars and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm.
Following his retirement from the Army he worked at the Fort Sill Shopette as well as a custodian for Geronimo Road Elementary School.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; five children and their spouses: Frankie Dale Patterson, El Paso, Texas, Glenda and Tommy Hodges, Karen and Glen Evans and Michael Lee and Susan Crumbley, all of Lawton, and Lisa Ezelle, Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren: Ashley, Parker, Taylor, Brett, Chad, Crystal, Shannon, Matthew, Brieanna, Leah, Lance, Brandon and Mitchell; several great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Bob Tenequer Sr., Lawton.
He was preceded in death by his daughters: Monette and Sharon; and a son, Gary Bob Tenequer.
