Woman linked to shooting arrested
A 36-year-old Lawton woman charged in connection with a Sept. 5 shooting has been arrested.
Raychelle L. Brisby, of 40 NE 25th, is charged with being an accessory after the fact in aiding Joseph K. Barnett, 37, in shooting with intent to kill and using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon.
According to an affidavit filed Sept. 28 in Comanche County District Court, Barnett turned himself in but was later released on $50,000 bail a few hours after he made his initial appearance Sept. 13 in Comanche County District Court.
As of Sept. 28, Brisby had made no contact with law enforcement, and Special District Judge Ken Harris issued a warrant for her arrest. If convicted of the felony, she faces up to 22 years in prison.
Victim wounded while walking on 52nd Street
The affidavit states that Brisby was in the passenger seat of the vehicle Barnett was driving when Barnett shot a man on Sept. 5. The victim told a detective he was walking down Southwest 52nd Street around 10:30 p.m. when he saw a vehicle at the intersection of Southwest 52nd and 45th streets.
The victim said he saw Barnett who is alleged to have been threatening the victim sitting in the driver's seat. Barnett then "leaned out the window and began firing multiple shots from a pistol" at the victim, the affidavit states.
