A woman was struck by a pickup while walking near the Interstate 44 on ramp on Lee Boulevard Monday night.

Lawton police and emergency responders were called shortly before 11:30 p.m. on a report of an accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian. An emergency radio dispatcher reported that woman was unconscious and breathing.

"The vehicle, a Ford F-150, and the pedestrian were both traveling westbound on Lee Boulevard when the victim was struck by the vehicle," said Sgt. Tim Jenkins, LPD information officer. "The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment to her injuries."

The LPD traffic unit was called to investigate the collision, Jenkins said, adding that the woman's condition and more information will be released as it becomes available.
