Lawton High to offer community job fair
Lawton high school students and community members will be able to learn more about how to find a job, prepare for a career and apply for employment Friday and Saturday at Lawton High School, 601 Fort Sill Blvd.
The third annual School & Community Job Fair hosted by Verde Outreach and Lawton High School is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday for high school students.
Tito Griffith Jr., founder and coordinator of the event, said students from other schools are invited to attend: It's not just for Lawton High School students.
Then, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, the job fair will be open to the community.
Businesses and organizations will have tables set up in the Lawton High School gym. They will share insight about careers, such as education or skills needed, describe a typical work day and the salary scale in their fields.
"Goodwill will help with resumes and dressing for success," Griffith said. "Crossroads Head Start Education Engine will be there and give information on programs and resources they offer. Home Depot and Lowe's will be taking job applications."
