Break-in leads to stitches, bloodshed, staples, arrest
A drunken man's burglary was cut short by a cup smashed over his head and ended with stitches, staples and a trip to jail.
Lawton Police Officer Josh Gardner reported being called around 11 a.m. Wednesday to 601 NE Flower Mound Road, regarding a man with a head injury. Medical personnel were treating the man when the officer arrived. Gardner noted the man had a distinct odor of alcohol coming from his person and had slurred speech and seemed to stutter through details of the occurrence, according to the report. He also had an obvious head wound that medical personnel were trying to treat by holding a compress on it in order to stop the bleeding. The officer noticed the man "had a large amount of blood coming from his head all the way down his body soaking his shirt and shorts."
Gardner said he asked the man what happened. He answered: "I just told her I was leaving and she hit me in the head with a cup." And that he "was at the home 'cause she asked me over" and he did not do anything wrong.
