The show keeps rolling
As Cameron baseball players cleared the dugout following the final out in an 8-2 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville, they sprayed water on one another while sprinting to the mound to celebrate with hugs and high fives.
Against all odds, Cameron completed a four-game sweep of Kingsville on Sunday afternoon at McCord Field to extend its season.
"Tremendous resolve by these guys," Cameron coach Brady Huston said. "Our guys just went out, competed and executed our gameplan. Sometimes your gameplan works. Sometimes it doesn't. It sure went the way it was supposed to this week."
The win in the regular season finale granted Cameron (29-18, 10-10 LSC) the fourth and final spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament, hosted by Angelo State, later this week.
"It doesn't matter what happened the last 47 games," Huston said. "Everybody is 0-0 and you gotta go win. Our guys are playing well, though."
