Mac vs. Ike still carries importance
After inclement weather changed the date and location of their previous meeting, MacArthur and Eisenhower meet tonight under slightly more normal conditions.
The two schools will meet tonight at MacArthur, with the girls scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and the boys to tip at 7:30 p.m.
In mid-January, administrators changed the date of the Mac-Ike games in an attempt to avoid dangerous weather conditions when snow and ice were expected. Because of scheduling conflicts, the games were then moved from MacArthur to Eisenhower. The girls game went to the Highlanders, 47-46, while the Eisenhower boys cruised to a 37-point win.
Mac and Ike boys face off in rubber match
In addition to being a city rivalry game, the boys game has an added element the possibility of a rematch in the playoffs next weekend. The teams were placed in the same region and if they each win their opening game, they would face each other. For Eisenhower coach Todd Millwee, tonight's game is no less significant than any playoff game.
