Mac rolls in district opener at Western Heights
MacArthur baseball cruised to two easy victories as it opened district play Monday.
The Highlanders' offense was the driving force behind 15-0 and 11-0 wins at Western Heights, compiling a total of 20 hits in two run-rule games.
Michelle Artzberger and Kyle Engel both homered in Game 1, as Mac took a 4-0 lead into the third inning and erupted for 11 more runs to put the run-rule into effect. Artzberger and Engel accounted for two RBIs apiece.
Caleb Green (2 for 3) had three RBIs with two singles. Racer Felter (2 for 3) also drove in a run and Zac DeLong had a three-run triple.
Jack Smith pitched the win, allowing two hits in three innings. He struck out six batters and walked two.
Western Heights committed five errors.
