Cameron falls to Tarleton
Cameron's baseball team is definitely tired of seeing Tarleton State's team after losing three of four games of a weekend series but the good news is none of those games count in the Lone Star Conference standings.
The teams closed out their series with the Texans earning a 15-2 victory Sunday afternoon at McCord Field.
The Aggies drop to 15-6 overall while Tarleton is now 15-6 on the season.
The Lone Star Conference series scheduled weeks 5-7 will not count toward the league standings, but weeks 8 to 14 will be the games that count in the standings and determine the LSC Champion. Each four-game series shall consist of a 9-inning game Friday, a 7x7 doubleheader Saturday and 9-inning contest Sunday.
The overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference games, while the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the league's automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The double-elimination championship featuring the top four teams will be played May 11-12-13, at the No. 1 seed.
