Aggie volleyballers launch home season
When a young team is struggling to find its way at the start of a season, that first game or match at home can be vitally important and that's why Cameron's volleyball team is hoping for a large group of rowdy students and fans will be in the Aggie Gym at 5:30 p.m. today when the Aggies open the home schedule against USAO.
The Drovers are in their second season of volleyball and this will mark the start of what could be a long natural rivalry.
Ironically, both teams have new coaches, Tatiana Booth for the Aggies and Richard Barker who came from Bacone College to lead the Drovers.
There are other similarities as well with both owning 1-5 records, however, the scores of those matches is where there is a major difference. While the Drovers have been swept in straight sets in four of their losses, the Aggies have been very competitive, but dropping two straight decisions a week ago in the Southeastern Tournament after building 2-0 leads shows that when this bunch learns to finish they could be deadly.
Last weekend Cameron dropped a pair of matches at East Central's Invitational.
