Senior Health Expo to be held Saturday
The 2018 Senior Health and Wellness Expo will be held April 20th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Great Plains Technology Center Worley Auditorium. The auditorium is located in Building 300 at 4500 W. Lee Blvd. in Lawton.
"Health officials and senior care advocates will come together to educate senior citizens on health, wellness and safety issues," Lorene Miller, director of the Senior Center for Creative Living said recently. "There will be a free breakfast, free lunch and admission is free. People interested in procuring services pertaining to senior living are welcome to come out."
The expo, which is in its second year, is sponsored by several local vendors including BancFirst, ClearOptions, Nora O'Neil, Enlivant, Parkinson Foundation, Lawton Heritage Pharmacy, Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, Walgreens, The Chateau of Lawton, Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home Green Acres Market, ClipNDip, Visiting Angels, SWMC, Brentwood, Dr. Bradly Montgomery, Dr. Lahere, with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
One of the vendors is Visiting Angels, a national organization that specializes in care for elder citizens.
"We are going to be at the Health Expo again this year," Juniper Harms, executive director for Visiting Angels of Lawton, said. "We will have literature and brochures to distribute and we will explain our services, which include cooking, cleaning, bathing, running errands and taking patients to appointments. We will be giving out back scratchers with our logo on them."
