USAO to host annual festival of arts

CHICKASHA - The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) will host its annual Festival of Arts and Ideas at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the USAO Ballroom.

The one-night festival, with the theme "Our Beautiful Planet," is free and open to the public.

The goal of the festival, an interdisciplinary conference, is to celebrate the university's learning environment by presenting the scholarly and creative work of faculty, staff, students and alumni, according to a news release from the university.

Guests will attend performances, lectures, discussions and exhibits that reflect the liberal arts mission of USAO.

The festival will feature a video documentary, a brief performance from the play "Extreme Weather," a presentation titled "Our Innate Connection to the Natural World," a discussion about the debate surrounding climate change and performances by the USAO Concert Choir.
