WALTERS  The Cotton County Arts Council's Arts & Crafts Festival is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Comanche Nation Community Center east of Walters on Oklahoma 53.

Winners in two categories, Fine Art and Crafts, will receive ribbons and monetary awards. Best of Show in Fine Art receives $400 and Judge's Choice in Crafts receives $125. Total awards amount to over $2,400, according to Pattie Calfy, historian and media contact for the arts council.

"Last year there were about 30 artists and crafters who participated and they were from Oklahoma, Texas and one came from Arkansas," Calfy said.

Exhibits must be in place by 10 a.m. Saturday. Prizes may be awarded in the Fine Art category for: oil and acrylic on canvas, pastels, graphics, sculpture/3D, photography, computer art, mixed media, and watercolor and acrylic on paper. Categories are subject to judge's discretion.

Exhibitors must supply their own tables in the Crafts category. No items that are propelled or fly will be permitted.
