2 Hip Chicks Road Show to be at Coliseum on Saturday
The Lawton-Fort Sill community is invited to "come junk'n" for repurposed furniture, metal art and one-of-a-kind finds at the 2 Hip Chicks Road Show.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, vendors from boutique and antique shops will join together in the Great Plains Coliseum, 920 S. Sheridan.
The cost of admission is $5, and children ages 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
The first 25 individuals to enter the event will receive a bag full of goodies, and guests have a chance of winning a door prize every 45 minutes.
Tasty Beats, a local food truck from Duncan, will offer loaded nachos, grilled onion burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken tacos, jumbo pretzels with cheese, personal pan pizzas and jumbo pickles, among other entrees and snacks, to guests.
Trina Gonzales and Amanda Johnson own 2 Hip Chicks Road Show, and they travel to different states, including Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. Gonzales said she and Johnson collaborate with vendors across the states, and the vendors vary from show to show, depending on the show's location.
"We have a work vehicle, and we have a 7 (foot) by 14 (foot) trailer that's loaded with everything that we'll need to host a show and our boutique," she said. "Then, we just go."
Gonzales and Johnson are best friends who decided to hit the road with their business three years ago.
"We enjoy traveling, and we would go to shows every weekend with our boutique," Gonzales said. "We decided that we wanted to start our own road show."
