Tickets still available for Rotary Leadership Live2Lead conference
Discount tickets are available for the Lawton Rotary Leadership Institute's Live2Lead conference scheduled for Nov. 7.
General admission tickets are $100 through Oct. 15 and $129 thereafter and are available on eventbrite: http://tinyurl.com/yd9puksz.
Live speakers will be former Oklahoma Gov. George Nigh, former Oklahoma City Major Kirk Humphreys, motivational speaker Shannon Selmon-Carter, and John Maxwell of the John Maxwell leadership development organization. The simulcast speaker will be Dave Ramsey, author, host of "The Dave Ramsey Show" on radio and creator of Financial Peace University.
The institute sponsored its first Live2Lead conference in 2015 with seating for 300 and a simulcast lineup of speakers. Last year it moved to a 700-seat venue and added a live speaker. Space is doubling again this year and all but one of the speakers will be live.
The conference will be from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at First Assembly, 2201 NW 82nd, which has seating for 1,300 people.
The conference has drawn wide support from Lawtonians, particularly the city's business community.
"They continue to improve each year," said Paul Ellwanger, executive vice president of City National Bank.
"It's bringing world-class leadership opportunities to Lawton. We don't have those opportunities very often."
Ellwanger said the cost is inexpensive for the quality of the training and the caliber of the speakers.
"This is a wonderful educational opportunity," he said.
Clarence Fortney, superintendent of Great Plains Technology Center, said the program will "help develop leadership throughout the community."
