Duncan Regional Hospital awarded an 'A' grade
DUNCAN Duncan Regional Hospital has been awarded an "A" grade by the Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the health care industry.
The grade reflects the hospital's commitment to reducing errors, infections and accidents that can harm patients.
Duncan Regional Hospital President Jay Johnson said the top grade is a tribute to the hospital's staff of physicians, nurses, clinicians and other team members who work hard to make sure to provide the safest care possible to DRH patients.
"That takes commitment from every member of the hospital staff, who all deserve thanks and congratulations," agreed Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
