Duncan man charged with kidnapping, assaulting girlfriend
A 36-year-old Duncan man posted $50,000 bond and is free after being charged with kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend over a four-hour period in early October.
Alfredo Maldonado was bailed out of Stephens County jail Tuesday and, as part of his bond condition, is to have no contact with witnesses or to have intoxicants, court records indicate.
A felony arrest warrant was issued from Stephens County District Court on Nov. 14 charging Maldonado with a felony count of kidnapping and a misdemeanor count of domestic assault and battery. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the felony count.
Maldonado is accused of holding his girlfriend against her will at his house Oct. 8 and of assaulting her over the course of the night, charges indicate.
Duncan police began investigating after being called to the hospital shortly before 11 a.m. Oct. 9. The woman told officers she'd gone to a party the night before with her boyfriend, Maldonado, and that he'd become jealous as she was speaking with a former friend. Maldonado punched the friend and took her to his house at 1210 W. Oak, where he assaulted her, she said.
